Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Mapages, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use our service.

2. Account Creation & Eligibility

• You must be 18+ to create an account (or 13+ with parental consent)
• Provide accurate information during registration
• Keep your password secure—you're responsible for account activity
• One person per account (no account sharing)

3. Your Content & Ownership

• You Own It: You retain full ownership of all photos, voice notes, and content you upload
• License to Us: By uploading, you grant Mapages a limited license to store, display, and process your content SOLELY to provide the service
• Your Responsibility: You're responsible for having rights to all content you upload
• Prohibited Content: No illegal, abusive, infringing, or harmful content

3a. Upload Security Policy

Mapages enforces the following upload restrictions on all plans (Demo, Free, and Pro):

• Images only: Only image files (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WEBP, HEIC/HEIF) may be uploaded. Videos, documents, audio files, and archives are automatically rejected at the point of upload.
• Content verification: File content is verified using cryptographic magic byte analysis — renaming a non-image file will not bypass this check.
• Duplicate prevention: A SHA-256 hash fingerprint is computed for every uploaded file. Identical photos already in your library will be detected and blocked from re-uploading to prevent storage waste.
• File size limits: Maximum file size per upload is enforced by plan tier (10MB on Free/Demo, 18MB on Pro). This limit applies to the compressed file size after processing.
• Prohibited uploads: Uploading files that are not genuine photos (e.g. executables, scripts, documents disguised as images) violates these Terms and may result in account suspension.

4. Plans & Billing

Mapages is available as a one-time paid download ($3.99 USD) on Google Play. Mapages does not process payments directly. There are no subscriptions, no recurring charges, and no auto-renewals. Refund requests for Google Play purchases are handled through your Google Play account settings. The Free plan is free forever. iOS availability is coming soon.

Demo (7 Days – Free, No Credit Card):

• 150MB storage, 1 album
• Full paid-tier feature access for 7 days on the web
• 7-day countdown timer visible in app
• After 7 days: read-only mode (30 days), then account locked
• Download the app from Google Play to get full access

Free Plan (Forever):

• 150MB storage, 1 album, up to 50 photos per album
• Grid view, page-flip viewer, text captions, reactions & comments
• Voice notes (6 sec preview), password-protected sharing, basic support

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to:

• Upload content you don't own or have permission to use
• Violate others' intellectual property, privacy, or rights
• Share content containing illegal material
• Use Mapages for spam, harassment, or abuse
• Attempt to hack, breach security, or reverse-engineer the app
• Create multiple accounts to bypass storage limits
• Scrape or automatically collect data from Mapages

Violations may result in:

• Warning and content removal
• Temporary account suspension
• Permanent account termination without refund

6. Storage Limits & Fair Use

• Demo: 150MB hard limit (full features for 7 days)
• Free: 150MB hard limit, 1 album, 50 photos per album
• Pro Monthly & Pro Yearly: 50GB storage, unlimited albums and photos
• Paid storage is for personal use only — no commercial photo hosting for others
• We'll notify you before taking action if your usage seems unusual

7. Sharing Features

• You control who sees your albums via share links
• Share links can be password-protected, time-limited, and revoked anytime
• QR code sharing available (scan to view albums instantly)
• You're responsible for who you share with
• Paid plan users get advanced sharing (watermarks, single-use links, expiration, view analytics)
• Long-press actions available on mobile for quick sharing

7a. Trusted Access (Invite by Link — Pro Only)

• Trusted Access is available on Demo (during active trial) and Pro plans. Free users cannot create invite links.
• Demo (active trial) and Pro album owners may generate invite links granting trusted individuals access to their albums
• Two roles are available: Viewer (view only) and Contributor (can upload photos and add captions — but never delete)
• Trusted users can NEVER delete albums, categories, or photos regardless of role
• Invite links can be email-restricted (only the specified email may accept) or open (anyone with the link)
• Invites may be set to expire after a specified number of days
• Album owners can revoke access at any time; access is removed immediately
• You are responsible for the security of invite links you generate and share
• Mapages does not send invitation emails — sharing the link is the album owner's responsibility

8. Service Availability

• We strive for 99.9% uptime but don't guarantee uninterrupted service
• Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance
• We're not liable for data loss—always keep backups

9. Account Termination

• By You: Delete your account anytime (data deleted within 30 days)
• By Us: We may suspend/terminate accounts violating these terms
• Canceled Subscriptions: Data retained for 90 days before deletion

10. Intellectual Property

• Mapages name, logo, and app design are our property
• You may not use our branding without permission
• Your content remains yours

11. Disclaimers & Liability

• Mapages is provided "AS IS" without warranties
• We're not liable for indirect damages, data loss, or service interruptions
• Maximum liability limited to amount paid in the last 12 months

12. Changes to Terms

• We may update these terms with 30 days' notice
• Significant changes announced via email
• Continued use = acceptance of new terms

13. Governing Law

• These terms governed by laws of [Your Jurisdiction]
• Disputes resolved through arbitration when possible
